Immunity to Change: Facing Change Workshop

The Immunity to Change (ITC) process is one that aims to start people on a novel journey that will enable them to accomplish specific personal improvements, which have been determined as very important to the individual, but have faced proven resistance in prior efforts. Being guided through the ITC mapping process helps people surface individual internal contradictions and (possibly faulty) “operating assumptions taken as Truth”. Developed by two Harvard Professors, Dr. Robert Kegan and Dr. Lisa Lahey, the ITC process creates a personal map or diagnostic of what they call the “immunity to change” as it relates to the individual’s specifically identified improvement goal and makes an analogy to our physical immune system that can at times become immune to certain threats.

Some changes are harder to make than others. We all face what is akin to an "immunity" to certain, important changes. Leigh Doherty, a certified coach of Designed Alliance will lead the interactive workshop and participants will :

  • Explore the nature of adaptive versus technical changes
  • Identify an adaptive change goal to explore through an Immunity to Change mapping process
  • Examine hidden commitments that may create obstacles to achieving certain desired changes
  • Create an action plan to test the waters of active change

Light refreshments will be served
